switchyard

pricing

pay for what runs, not for who is in the room

every plan has the whole product. you pay a small monthly minimum, and your usage counts against it: the check minutes switchyard runs for you, the AI suggestions made on switchyard's key, and the storage your repositories take. agents, tasks, merges and people are not metered.

switchyard is in private beta. billing starts when your team is invited, and the first month's minimum is pro-rated from that day. prices are in US dollars; VAT or sales tax is added where it applies.

what is metered

meterratewhat counts
check minutes, small $0.005 per minute a check switchyard runs for you on a small machine (1 cpu, 6 GB memory): the check command's run time, rounded up to the whole minute per run
check minutes, large $0.015 per minute the same on a large machine (4 cpu, 12 GB memory), for test suites that need it
AI suggestions $0.50 each a suggested merge for one conflicted file, written on switchyard's key. on your own anthropic key they cost nothing here
repository storage $0.25 per GB a month the git storage your projects take on switchyard, measured daily and averaged over the month
checks on your GitHub Actions $0 when the merge queue waits for your own workflows, you pay your ci provider and nothing here
agents, tasks, merges, people $0 not metered on any plan

what would it cost

check minutes a month
3,000
usage at the rates
$25.50
estimated bill a month
$25.50
above the launch minimum
$20

an estimate, not a quote. it assumes one test run per merge and 30 days a month. the merge queue tests tasks together, so a busy team usually runs fewer suites than it merges; a failed suite is run once more to tell a flaky test from a real failure, which counts. the bill is the larger of the minimum and the usage.

questions

why a minimum?
a project costs us something whether or not it merges that month: its git storage, its history, and the machine that answers when an agent pushes. the minimum covers that, and your usage counts against it, so a small team on the launch plan pays $20 and nothing more until its usage passes $20.
does an unused minimum roll over?
no. each month stands on its own.
what happens when usage passes the minimum?
you pay the usage at the rates above, nothing more. the bill is the larger of the minimum and the usage, settled monthly in arrears. nothing is cut off in the middle of a merge.
are the features the same on every plan?
yes. the plans differ in the minimum, in how fast we answer, and in the paperwork a larger company needs. we do not hold product features back to sell a tier.
what exactly is a check minute?
the time your check command runs on a machine switchyard started for it, rounded up to the whole minute per run. counted: the first run of a test build, the second run after a failure, the runs that find which task broke a batch, and a run on the next batch while this one is tested, when its result was used. not counted: a pass we already had for the same tree, a run that ended in our own failure, a run repeated because we restarted, and anything on your own GitHub Actions. the container starting and the checkout reaching it are on us.
how do I see my usage?
your team's page shows this month's check minutes, tasks started and merged, merges and pushes. the itemised bill, with what each run was for, comes with billing.
what about AI suggestions on my own key?
an owner can set the team's own anthropic key. suggestions then run on it, at your cost with anthropic, and switchyard counts none. switchyard's own key is capped per team per month either way.
can I leave?
any time. your code is plain git: clone it and go. a deleted project is kept for 30 days in case you change your mind, then purged. see the terms.
